Jack Stephenson did a second year as President. Michael Colivet took over the Secretary's duties.

At the first meeting in September sub committees were circulated.

Again this year the members agreed to devote all fundraising monies to one project - this time to the Relaxing Room in the Alzheimer's Unit in St. Joseph's Hospital. Bridget Burke from St. Joseph's attended the October meeting and made a presentation. She later joined the Club and became President in time. Also at the October meeting Paul Clerkin made a presentation on the Lion's Toolkit, having earlier attended a seminar on its value to Clubs.

The Club followed a suggestion from District HQ to have two categories of member - Full and Associate. A few members who had been inactive in recent years opted for the latter.

For the first time setting up of a website was mooted - it took 10 years to bring it to fruition.

A reunion of Trabolgan guests from May was held in The Park House in September.

The table quiz Faces, Places and Facts of the Decies, deferred from last year due to Foot and Mouth went ahead in October, sponsored by Waterford Crystal. This very novel event, chaired by Michael Colivet and enjoyed by all, raised £2,000.

The Club members voted overwhelmingly to involve the various conferences of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the distribution of vouchers at the Christmas Appeal. This was the first time for many years when we were without the services of Bob Heuston of WLRfm in the On Air Auctions, as he had sadly passed away during the year. The minutes indicate that the Appeal was very well run under the chairmanship of Mick Brosnan, and was very successful with income of €43,171.

The December meeting was brought forward by a week to facilitate a visit from District Governor, Oliver McDonald. Two members of Carrick on Suir Club also attended - club visits were working. In the other direction, some members attended a meeting of our charter club, Clonmel.

The Tailtwister at the January meeting (2nd January) found his fund full of old money - obviously many offloading their unwanted coins!

In March we were very fortunate in acquiring the services of the US Air Forces in Europe Concert Orchestra, and this real quality 40 piece orchestra played to an enthusiastic full house in the Park Hotel, while raising €5,000 for the year's chosen charity.

On the social side a Club bowling night was again held in Clonea, with Mick Brosnan coming out on top, and a Race Nite of a sort was held in February.

The handover to the new President, Mick Brosnan was effected a month early - at the June meeting, due to the fact that the incumbent was going off to see the world.
