1994/95

After ten years on the top table as President or Secretary, Paul Clerkin retired (albeit temporarily) to the back benches as Eddie Holohan took over as President. John Coade stayed on as Secretary.

The year started with the terrible news that Joe Ryan, President in 1991/92, and current Treasurer, had died tragically while on holiday with his young family. Joe had been a very active and innovative member of the Club.

On the services front, the Club brought 50 handicapped people on an outing in August. Also, over the Summer months members organised a day's outing for children from Chernobyl, who were in Dungarvan, for a well deserved break.

We purchased a computer for a visually impaired university student during the year.

Hospital visits to St Joseph's Hospital continued during the year.

At this stage the Leo Club was very active, and they involved themselves very actively in Lions Club events.

The Christmas Appeal was again very much centre stage under the stewardship of Pat O'Sullivan, with the usual positive outcome.

There was quite an influx of new members during the year. We also became involved in the transfer market in 1994, when our member Matt Carey transferred to Ballinasloe, on relocation to the West.
