1992/93

Pat O'Sullivan was next to wear the President's chain, while Paul Clerkin did his ninth year of secretarial duties.

Unfortunately, all information for this year is not currently available, but we have some snippets. 

Pat had come to Dungarvan from Newbridge, where he was Vice President of Newbridge Lions Club, so it was a natural that he would achieve the same status with Dungarvan. 

In his time with the Club (he left in 2007 on promotion to Dublin), he became Mr. Christmas Appeal. The Appeal, which had heretofore been a one day event, was increased to four days on local radio. The amount raised hit five figures for the first time, coming in at a little over £10,000. In addition, the year saw our great friend from WLRfm, Bob Heuston, commence his broadcasts from Dungarvan during the Appeal. He was a constant with us until his untimely death in 2001. He was supported by Carrie Crowley and Timmy Ryan.

During the year a donation of £700 was made to the Hospice Movement, and assistance was also given to a senior citizen who had been the victim of a burglary.

The Club organised the local heat of the Entertainer of the Year and provided a bus to take contestants and senior citizens to the Regional Finals in Waterford.

On a sad note, this year saw the passing of our second President, Pat O'Connell, who had remained as a very active member until his death, and another stalwart member of the Club, Michael Nagle. Both were sadly missed by the members.
