1989/90

Richard Dalton was the President that took the Club into the nineties, while Paul Clerkin was again in the Secretary's chair.

Early in the year the Club provided entertainment for 20 wheelchair users who were holidaying in the area, while transport was provided to bring Senior Citizens to a brass band recital.

An Entertainer of the Year local final was organised by the Club. The Over 55s Talent Competition was also promoted, while the Club hired a bus to bring senior citizens to the final in Waterford.

For the Christmas Appeal the Club linked up again with WLR, who broadcast for an afternoon from Grattan Square. During that broadcast various items were auctioned, including 40 Christmas trees, which had been donated to the Club. The link with WLR continued for many years after that.

The Cabaret was very successful, with 455 patrons attending on the night to hear The Bards, backed up by much local talent, in an event that raised €2,600.

On a sad note, Vice President John Fleming passed away in December. A special Mass was organised in his memory by the Club.

Other events that were held in the year were the Mosney holiday, the Christmas swim and the Carriglea Christmas outing to Chipperfield's circus in Cork.
